(S) In response to reftel demarche delivered September 24,
the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority's (HAEA) Nuclear and
Radioactive Department Head, Krisztof Horvath, told PolOff on
October 7 that the HAEA Nuclear Safety Directorate is in
direct contact with IAEA on this issue. Horvath stated that
the GOH is interested in the proposal but have yet to make a
final decision on participation.
