Counsellor for Andean Countries, Department for Latin America
and the Caribbean Kathleen Joppen. Joppen was aware of he
Morales DEA expulsion statements, and said elgium was
concerned. She said the possibility of a DEA expulsion was
raised at the last EU working group on Latin America. Joppen
said several countries were concerned, but no solutions were
offered. The EU is uncertain how it could play a role in
reducing drugs or stop the transit from one developing
country to another.
