1. Embassy Bridgetown received a fax from Saint Christopher and
Nevis's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Note No. 777/2008),which
included a letter from the Premier of the Nevis Island
Administration containing a congratulatory message for
President-Elect Barack Obama. The complete text of the letter
follows in paragraph 2. Post will forward the hard copy of the
message when it is received.

Hon Barack Obama
President Elect of the United States of AMERICA

Dear President Elect:

On behalf of the people of Nevis, the Government and my own behalf,
it is indeed a pleasure to convey best wishes to you, your family,
your campaign team and the citizens of the United States, on your
victory at the polls thus becoming the fourty-fourth President of
your country.

As you celebrate this landmark occasion in the history of your
country, I pray for continued strength as well as prosperity for the
people of your country in these challenging and unpredictable
times.

I am confident that your elevation to the lofty position as leader
of the free world will positively impact the citizens of Nevis, the
Caribbean and the Diaspora. Congratulations sir and thank you for
what you have done for the African Diaspora and indeed the world.
