1. (C) On October 2, 2008, Ambassador Obsitnik and Slovak
Minister of Interior Robert Kalinak met and signed the
"Agreement between the Government of the United States of
America and the Government of the Slovak Republic for the
Exchange of Screening Information Concerning Known or
Suspected Terrorists." Per reftel, post obtained a copy of
the signed Slovak originals, which have been scanned and
transmitted via e-mail to CA/P/IP (Peter Thompson),L/CA
(Kathleen Hooke),and L/T (Michelle Cannon) along with the
signed U.S. originals. Post has also sent the U.S. originals
via registered classified pouch to the Office of the
Assistant Legal Adviser for Treaty Affairs (L/T).
2. (C) As Washington is aware, the Slovaks have requested the
signing of the agreement not be discussed publicly until
October 9.
