1. (U) POLOFF conveyed reftel points to Branislav Lysak, the
MFA official charged with East Asian countries in the Asia
and Oceania Division. Lysak shares U.S. concerns regarding
the restrictions on international relief efforts and forced
relocations of storm victions to cyclone-affected areas.
While acknowledging Slovakia's limitations with Burma
activities monitored from the Slovak Embassy in Bangkok,
Lysak said they would follow up on reftel points in both
bilateral and multilateral settings where their influence
could be magnified.
