1. SUMMARY. The Government of Brazil agrees on the extension of
the Cooperation Agreement in the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space signed

2. In response to the diplomatic note from Embassy (per REFTEL)
proposing the extension of Brazil's participation in the cooperation
in the peaceful uses of outer space, on June 6, 2008, Post received
a diplomatic note (DMAE/CGEUC/DAI/71/MESP) from Brazil's Ministry of
External Relations agreeing to the extension of the Agreement.
3. An informal translation of the note is as follows:
The Ministry of External Relations complements the United States of
America Embassy and has the honor to refer to Diplomatic Note number
58 dated February 21, 2008, which proposes the extension, until
January 31, 2009, of the Cooperation Agreement in the Peaceful Uses
of Outer Space, signed at Brasilia on March 1, 1996.
Regarding this matter, the Ministry of External Relations informs
that the Government of Brazil agrees with the extension of the
Agreement, in the terms proposed by that Embassy.
