SUMMARY: In response to reftel, Econoff initiated efforts with MilGroup Officer to confirm the purchase by the Colombian Air Force (CAF) of 6 Mounting Brackets, part number 3E2652, and 1 Timer, part number 3E2311. However, Post was unable to confirm the incorporation of the items into Super Tucano aircraft manufactured by Foreign Consignee Embraer-Empresa Brasileira de Aeronautica of Brazil or their use as spare parts for said aircraft. Post recommends that Department follow-up directly with Foreign Intermediate Consignees. End Summary. ¶3. On June 9, Econoff and MilGroup Officer met with Colonel Jaime Ivan Reyes Rincon, Director of Logistics Procurement for the CAF, and Lt. Colonel Armin Oswaldo Gomez Guzman, Subdirector of Acquisitions for the CAF. Reyes and Gomez stated that the CAF had not ordered the subject parts for use as spare parts for Super Tucano aircraft. ¶4. Reyes and Gomez stated that the CAF was in the process of purchasing 25 Super Tucanos from Embraer-Empresa Brasileira de Aeronautica of Brazil, of which 23 had already been delivered with two more to be delivered in the near future. Reyes and Gomez confirmed that the Super Tucanos being ordered do have the subject Mounting Brackets and Timer. Accordingly, with the current information Post cannot confirm the particular purchase by the CAF of the subject Mounting Brackets and Timer. ¶5. Post recommends that the Department contact Foreign Intermediate Consignees Darrigo and Valente Transportes, Ltda., Figwal Transportes Internacionais, Ltda., Minoica Global Logistica, Ltda., ATrade de Cargo do Brasil, Ltda. and Embraer-Empresa Brasileira de Aeronautica of Brazil to determine the disposition of said parts.
