1. (SBU) PolChief delivered Ref A points on the appointment
of Sada Cumber as U.S. Special Representative to the
Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) to MFA Western
Countries Department Counselor Askhat Ryskulov on March 5.
Ryskulov thanked us for the points and said he would pass the
information on to other officials in the Ministry.
2. (C) PolChief also delivered Ref B points on the presence
of Ambassador William Swing, the U.S. candidate for Director
General of the International Organization for Migration
(IOM),at the OIC Summit in Dakar, Senegal from March 9 to 11
to advance his candidacy with IOM member states on the
margins of the Summit. Ryskulov thanked us for the points
and said he would pass the information to the concerned
officials in the Ministry. Ryskulov did not know who would
represent Kyrgyzstan at the OIC Summit. Post will follow up
with the MFA to get a point of contact for the Kyrgyz
delegation.
