¶1. (S) Juergen Boehler, Head of the Export Control Licensing
Division of the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs
(SECO),contacted poloff on October 21 regarding the attempt
by a North Korean firm to obtain a machine tool from Swiss
firm Schaublin Machines (reftels). Boehler expressed
appreciation for our bilateral cooperation and reported to
poloff that the Swiss government had stopped the export in
question.
