¶1. (U) Per reftel B, Mission Germany plans to issue an Op-Ed
under the Ambassador's by-line in recognition of the Day of
Solidarity with the Cuban People on May 21. The Op-Ed will
appear in a national daily newspaper, The Tagesspiegel. We
are working with the Chancellor's office and the Foreign
Ministry to encourage supportive statements as well. Results
of this outreach will be reported in a follow-up cable after
May 21.
