(C) The German Ministry of Economics welcomed information in
reftel nonpaper. Econoff met with Economics Ministry Office
Director Martin Lutz and provided reftel points and
non-paper. Lutz stated he would disseminate the information
within the Economics Ministry. He also stated he will pass
the information to the Ministry of the Interior for possible
further investigation, as the information has potential
counter-terrorism use and goes beyond other financial and
trade sanctions designations. (Comment: In a leading German
weekly news magazine, Djamshid Nezhad, the subject named in
reftel, denied the allegations against him. End Comment.)
