(S) We delivered ref (A) demarche again to Mladen Mijovic,
Foreign Ministry Deputy Defense Secretary on May 21. On June
25, Mijovic reported to us that he had received a response
from Economy Ministry assistant minister Ana Blagojevic,
confirming that there is no record in either the Economy
Ministry or in Customs that Belchem intended to import or
imported fiber-optic gyrocompasses between January 1, 2006
and May 29, 2008. Mijovic reiterated the importance the
Serbian government places on cooperation with the USG on
export control issues.
