1. (C) POLOFF relayed reftel points asking for support of a
joint demarche and for feedback on the specific language of a
possible demarche to Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) West
Asia and North Africa Department North Africa Division
Officer Liang Wei March 14. Liang reviewed the points and
promised to convey them to her superiors. She said, however,
that several departments within the MFA will need to
coordinate on this issue, so a complete response will not be
forthcoming until Monday at the earliest.
