¶1. (C) In a meeting with MFA Asian Affairs Department
Afghanistan and Pakistan Division Deputy Director Cao Jing on
September 26, PolOff delivered reftel points asking China to
urge Pakistan's leadership to undertake strong measures to
resolve Pakistan's security and economic crises. Deputy
Director Cao promised to convey the information to her
superiors and affirmed the need for continued U.S.-China
coordination on addressing the situation in Pakistan.
