1. (C) POLOFF on May 8 conveyed to MFA reftel points noting
that the United States has submitted a 60-day report on
implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1803 and
urging China to submit its own report. MFA International
Organizations and Conferences Department UN Division Deputy
Director Sun Xiaobo said China will read the U.S. report with
interest and has completed its own report. Sun said that the
MFA sent the report to the Chinese Permanent Mission in New
York last week with instructions that it be delivered.
