1. (S) POLOFF urged MFA Arms Control and Disarmament
Department Missile Division Third Secretary He Yi to
investigate reftel shipment of missile parts transiting China
from the DPRK to Syria. POLOFF told He Yi that we believe
the shipment is still in Ningbo, but is likely to depart for
Syria very soon.


2. (S) He Yi asked for the name of the North Korean company
which sold the parts and for the name of the ship scheduled
to carry the container from Ningbo to Syria. He Yi assured
PolOff the relevant agencies would examine the issue and the
MFA would let us know the results of their investigation.
