(S/NF) The following subject was denied access to refugee processing at US Embassy Baghdad due to concerns about his character and suspected involvement with violent insurgents. Subject was formerly employed as a stringer for the local AP bureau in 2003. AP severed ties with subject due to questionable information he was providing. AP deemed his contributions as propaganda, for the insurgency and they questioned how he was able to provide the first known photos of dead American soldiers. He could not explain how he provided the first known photos of certain Asian hostages before authorities knew they had been kidnapped. AP terminated his employment for what they considered shady, behavior and provided the above information to the Embassy. ¶5.
