1. (S) On May 5, DepPolCouns delivered reftel demarche on the
upcoming UNSCR 1267 listing request of three individuals
linked to al-Qaida to MFA A6 Middle East Directorate deputy
head Giorgos Ayfantis. Ayfantis said he believed the GOG
would have no difficulty with the listing and might
co-sponsor the request. Ayfantis said he would forward the
information to the Greek mission at the UN and to the Greek
intelligence service.
