1. (S) On May 6, Economic Section hand-delivered reftel
non-paper to Ioannis Sidiropoulos, Secretary General of the
Ministry of Economy and Finance, and to Panagiotis
Thomopoulos, Deputy Governor of the Bank of Greece (BG).
Both replied that they take this matter very seriously and
will pass along the non-paper to appropriate offices within
their institutions. Thomopoulos indicated he will get back
to us with any developments or follow-up actions. Post will
follow-up with Thomopoulos in a few weeks and will continue
to engage BG and GoG on these issues. We will report any
significant developments.
