1. (U) This is an ACTION request. SEE PARAGRAPH 3.
2. (S) Poloff verbally delivered referenced demarche on the
PKK conference in northern Iraq and provided the Europe-Erbil
direct flight non-paper on April 16 to Deputy Director of the
MFA A4 Directorate for Turkey, Katarina Nassika. Nassika
said she would inform relevant MFA offices and Directorates
and contact the U.S. Embassy with any information, should
something materialize. She asked whether this was the first
time Washington had made such a request, and if so, she was
curious as to the catalyst given that this year's conference
represented the sixth annual meeting. She also wondered
whether we had exact conference dates or specific names of
concern.
2. (S) ACTION REQUEST: Post would appreciate Washington
responses to Nassika's questions. Particularly helpful would
be a list of specific names of persons of concern.
