(U) On December 29, A/Deputy Economic Counselor delivered reftel points to Ioannis Sidiropoulos, Secretary General of the Ministry of Economy and Finance; Panagiotis Thomopoulos, Deputy Governor of the Bank of Greece (BG); and Panagiotis Kyriakopoulos, Director of Monetary Policy of Banks of the Bank of Greece. They indicated that they will pass on this information to relevant offices within their institutions (which in turn will pass on the information to entities under their supervision, such as privte banks),but had no substantive reply at ths time.
