1. (SBU) POLOFF delivered ref A points on U.S. priorities for
the Community of Democracies at the UNGA to MFA D1
Directorate for International Organizations head Ambassador
Alexandros Rallis, who would be accompanying FM Bakoyannis to
the UNGA. Rallis later told us he had passed the points to
Foreign Minister Bakoyannis and that they were "useful" to
the GOG in formulating its positions. He had no additional
substantive reply.
2. (SBU) DepPolCouns delivered ref B points on U.S. goals and
priorities at the 63rd UNGA to Rallis as well. The
conversation was brief, as Rallis was departing to join FM
Bakoyannis en route to the UNGA. Rallis said he was grateful
for the information on U.S. goals and priorities at the UNGA,
said it was "extremely important for us," and promised to
study it carefully.
