1. (C) Upon receipt of reftel, we engaged with GOG
interlocutors to press Greece to be supportive of an
amendment to the ISAF OPLAN to authorize ISAF forces to
interdict narcotics production and trafficking facilities
where such action would offer a direct military advantage.
On August 12, Poloff dago on this issue and that he had forwarded those points
to the Ministry of Defense as well.
2. (C) AIR Attache also delivered reftel points to Vice
Admiral Demetrius Elefsiniotis, the Deputy Chief of National
Defense (D/CHOD). Elefsiniotis took note of the points but
offered no substantive comment other than to express
appreciation for the information.
