1. (U) On September 11, POLOFF delivered reftel demarche on
preventing Iran's acquisition of new supplies of uranium to
Pantelis Margaris, Counselor-Expert for Disarmament Issues in
the MFA D1 Directorate for UN and International
Organizations. Margaris agreed that preventing Iran's
acquisition of uranium is necessary and extreme vigilance is
required. He noted that Greece is not an advanced nuclear
country but they would monitor any activity.
