(S) Per reftel, Charge delivered updated flight schedule and
request that the Turkmenistan government continue to make
approval of overflight requests contingent on full inspection
of the Air Koryo flight and its cargo to MFA Americas
Department Director Serdar Bashimov. Bashimov said that
Turkmenistan would honor this request, just as it has
consented to similar ones in the past. The country's
legislation requires strictly observing UN efforts to combat
proliferation and prevent the overflight of this type of
cargo.
