SUBJECT: TURKMENISTAN: UNODC INTRODUCES ON-LINE
COORDINATION TOOL
1. At its quarterly Law Enforcement Donor Coordination
Meeting on October 13, UNODC Ashgabat introduced the agency's
new internet-based ADAM (Automated Donor Assistance
Mechanism) website to participants. Members of UNODC's
Turkmenistan collective will now be able to access current
information about all counter-narcotics related activities
and expenditures in countries located on the Afghan opiate
trafficking routes. The new web-based device was created to
facilitate coordination among Paris Pact Initiative countries
and may be accessed at adam.unodc.org.
2. COMMENT: Counter-narcotics activities are a priority of
many of the foreign embassies and international organizations
present in Turkmenistan. We welcome UNODC's efforts in this
area and believe the new internet database will assist donors
in focusing their efforts in this sphere. END COMMENT.
