(C) Charge met August 8 with MFA Americas Department
Director Serdar Bashimov to raise the Turkey/Iran MOU on
natural gas and note that it would involve the transmission
of Turkmen gas, via swaps with Iran, to Turkey (Ref. A).
Bashimov had no information about the financial arrangements
for Turkmen gas to reach Turkey (Ref. B). He promised to
relay our concerns to the appropriate officials.
