(S) We shared ref c details about the rescheduling of the Air
Koryo charter flight to Damascus on April 11 with MFA
Department Head for Aviation Hamit Olcay April 3. Olcay
confirmed that the GOT will continue to condition the
granting of any overflight permission to Air Koryo with the
requirement that the aircraft land for inspection, as the MFA
had done for a previous Air Koryo over-flight request (ref
b). Olcay told us that the GOT has not received a new
overflight request from Air Koryo for the April 11 flight,
but said that the MFA would advise us if/when a request is
received.
