CDA Doug Silliman delivered reftel demarche points to MFA U/S
Apakan, November 28 During a follow-up December 3 meeting,
MFA Arms Control and Disarmament Department Head Elif Comoglu
Ulgen told us that the Turkish delegation is aware of USG
views. She noted specifically that Turkey supports the
agreed NATO text related to the CFE. Ulgen recommended USG
representatives contact the delegation directly for further
clarification of the Turkish position, adding all relevant
MFA officials who can speak to the issue details are in
Helsinki.
