(S) We passed reftel points July 3 to MFA Deputy Director
General for Arms Control and Disarmament Ahmet Muhtar Gun,
stressing the need to maintain vigilance against all
transfers of prohibited items to and from Iran. Gun promised
to share the points with other relevant offices in the
Foreign Ministry as well as with other concerned agencies.
He stated that Turkey is doing, and will continue to do, its
utmost to prevent illegal shipments involving Iran in
contravention of UNSCRs.
