Husseini noted the USG interest that the Vienna Forum not lead to any outcome document calling for commitments or recommendations to the UN, but said he found it hard to imagine that there would not be some concluding document or summary of proceedings. Poloff stressed that the intent was not for UN.GIFT to extend beyond 2008 or continue to exist as a stand-alone entity. Husseini said he anticipated that the GOJ would attend, but did not know who would represent his government. During a subsequent contact on February 5, he still did not know who the attendee(s) would be. Post will follow-up next week.
