1. (S) Foreign Minister Salaheddine Al-Bashir reiterated
Jordan's support of the compliance resolution (reftel) to
visiting Assistant Secretary for Verification, Compliance and
Implementation Paula DeSutter and indicated he would consider
joining as a co-sponsor, but made no further commitment.
DeSutter, accompanied by the Ambassador, met with FM Bashir
on October 28 during her October 25-29 visit to Jordan
(septel). A/S DeSutter encouraged Bashir to communicate any
specific concerns over the language that might present a
roadblock to co-sponsorship. The FM responded that he would
keep that in mind after taking a closer look at the
resolution.
