1. (S) POLOFF delivered Ref A demarche to Jamal Shamaylah,
Director of the Foreign Minister's Private Office on June 9.
Shamaylah reported that Foreign Minister Salah Al-Bashir will
attend the June 24 Berlin Conference subsequent to the June
23 conference in Vienna on the reconstruction of the Nahr
Al-Barid refugee camp (Ref B). Jordan's current budgetary
situation makes it unlikely that it will contribute financial
resources to quartet efforts.
2. (S) Jordan remains committed to hosting Palestinian
Authority training courses, including six specialized
training courses for members of the Palestinian National
Security Forces which will take place this summer, at the
Jordan International Police Training Center (JIPTC).
