(SBU) Following up on Post's previous demarche reported Ref
A, Poloff spoke on January 13 with the Foreign Ministry's
International Organizations Deputy Director, Hussam
al-Husseini, to seek greater clarity about GOJ intentions
regarding the candidacy of Pierre-Richard Prosper for a
position on the CERD (Ref B). Husseini said he was drafting
a memorandum for his superiors recommending GOJ support for
the candidacy in advance of the pending vote. While Husseini
did not guarantee a POSITIVE response, he did anticipate one.
