(C/NF) Poloff delivered reftel demarche to Khaled Takhayneh,
head of the Foreign Ministry's Disarmament Section, on April
¶7. Takhayneh noted that the travel of Iranian nationals to
Jordan has been monitored by Jordan going back to 1979, out
of generalized security concerns. As a rule, any Iranian who
wants to enter Jordan must first be screened by both the
Ministry of Interior and the General Intelligence
Directorate, and thus Jordan already has a mechanism in place
to monitor the travel of Iranians. He said the lists of
designated Iranian proliferators have been passed to the MOI
and GID.
