(S) On October 23, the EXBS Advisor delivered reftel talking
points and draft agenda to the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT)
of the Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs. BOFT officials
stated that they have held interagency discussions on the
upcoming meeting and appreciate receiving a draft agenda for
them to review. They said they will review the agenda and
provide comments to AIT. BOFT officials stated that in
addition to the agenda, they would also like to receive
information on the U.S. delegation as soon as possible. The
Advisor plans to follow-up on the progress of BOFT's review
of the agenda next week.
