(S) On October 23, the EXBS advisor delivered the reftel
non-paper license response to the Bureau of Foreign Trade
(BOFT). BOFT officials stated that they have not made a
decision on the license application from Roundtop Machinery
Industries to export machining centers to Malaysia's Era
Machinery. BOFT has requested a site visit to Era Machinery
to ensure the machine center is being used by Era for the
stated purpose. BOFT stated that it has not yet received a
response on the site visit request from Roundtop. BOFT
officials said they will review and consider U.S. comments in
making their final decision on the application.
