1. (U) Ms. Lulit Zewdie, the Ethiopian Foreign Ministry's
Counselor for UN Principal Organs, confirmed to PolEcon Chief
on January 16 that Ethiopia will vote in favor of U.S.
candidate for the UN Committee for the Elimination of Racial
Discrimination, Ambassador Pierre-Richard Prosper. The
Ethiopian decision follows six weeks of follow-up on this
issue by PolEcon Officer Kimberly Wright.
