On March 13, 2008, Ambassador Robin Renee Sanders presented
her credentials to Dr. Mohamed Ibn Chambas, President of the
ECOWAS Commission. Subsequent to the ceremony, Dr. Chambas
indicated his interest in promoting cooperation between the
U.S. Department of Agriculture and ECOWAS, and the Ambassador
mentioned USG interest in the progress of the ECOWAS Common
Tariff and the possibility of a visit to Abuja from COMNAVEUR
in the near future.
