PolOff delivered reftel demarche to Mr. Charles A. Ononye,
Deputy Director of the International Organizations Division
at Nigeria's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. PolOff reaffirmed
the U.S. view on Iranian noncompliance with UN resolutions on
uranium enrichment and stressed the need for a united
approach on sanctions. Mr. Ononye seemed amenable to the
U.S. position and assured PolOff that he would personally
pass along our nonpaper to the Foreign Minister. Post will
continue to engage on this matter and report any further
developments.
