SITE ASSESSMENTS AND MEETINGS Croatia -------------- 13 June, Held attended a meeting with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA),Department Head for International Security who requested EXBS Advisor support and assistance to their Diplomatic Academy Training Program by creating and delivering a presentation on Guidelines for Handling License Verification Requests at Foreign Posts. The request was accepted and it is anticipated that the first presentation will be scheduled for fall 2007. -------------- 14 June, accompanied the Director for the Office of Export Controls Cooperation (ECC) to an Embassy Zagreb-hosted event in his honor attended by the primary GOC Ministry representatives responsible for export controls. Ministries represented included Foreign Affairs, Economy, Interior and Finance (Customs). During this event GOC informally committed to host the International Export Control Conference in March 2008. -------------- 27 June, Met with UNDP Chief Technical Advisor for Small Arms Controls as requested to provide guidance and input on subject matter content and presentation methodology for a Regional Control Measures to Combat Trafficking in Small Arms and Light Weapons (SALW) to be held in Zagreb on 28 and 29 June. -------------- 29 June, Met with the MFA Department Head for International Security to review and discuss suggestions to strengthen the final draft revision of the Military Arms and Equipment legislation. The revision review process is proceeding well and there is a concerted effort by the GOC to have the latest legal revision, review and adoption complete by the end of the year. ¶2. EQUIPMENT DONATIONS Slovakia -------------- 28 June, Met with officials from the Ministry of Finance, Customs Directorate to present two Ludlum 192 handheld detectors, donated by the Department of Energy and 85 Gerber tool kits, donated by the Department of Homeland Security (CBP).
