1. (SBU) Charge delivered reftel demarche to Croatia's Assistant
Minister of Foreign Affairs for Bilateral Cooperation Ivica Tomic,
who said Croatia supports President Bush's effort to ensure a
positive future for Iraq. He added that Croatia will continue to
contribute to Iraq's progress according to its capability, noting
such projects as Croatia's contribution of trainers to the Jordan
police training facility, its hospitalization efforts for Iraqi
children, and its appointment of a non-resident ambassador to
Baghdad.
2. (SBU) Charge also briefed Presidential Foreign Policy Advisor
Budimir Loncar, who was very encouraged that the Iraqi government is
prepared to address the destabilization efforts of Iran and Syria
with the governments of those countries.
