SUBJECT: ARMENIA: ENTRY INTO FORCE OF THE AGREEMENT ON THE
EXCHANGE OF TECHNICAL INFORMATION AND COOPERATION IN
NUCLEAR SAFETY MATTERS
1. According to Armenian Diplomatic Note 16/05822 dated May
14, 2007 and received at the Embassy on May 17, 2007, Armenia
has completed the formalities required for entry into force
of the agreement on the exchange of technical information and
cooperation in nuclear safety matters.
2. The substantive text of the DipNote reads as follows:
BEGIN TEXT:
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia
presents its compliments to the U.S. Embassy in the Republic
of Armenia and has the honor of informing that the Armenian
side has completed the formalities required for entry into
force of the agreement signed on March 15, 2007 between the
United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission (USNRC) and the
Nuclear Regulatory Authority of the Republic of Armenia
(ANRA) on the exchange of technical information and
cooperation in nuclear safety matters.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia
requests the Embassy to pass this information to respective
U.S. authorities and inform the date this notice was received
in order to specify the effective date of the above-mentioned
agreement.
