MFA Middle East Director Garnik Badalyan on December 17.
Badalyan noted that he would be meeting later in the day with
the Iranian Ambassador to Armenia and would raise the issue
then. Post also delivered demarche via diplomatic note to
the MFA Americas Desk, and Conoff delivered the same message
on December 18 to consular contacts in the MFA to determine
if Mr. Levinson had ever entered Armenia. The Consular
Department at the MFA said it would begin checks right away.
