(S) Poloff met with Cameroon's head of Interpol, Marie Ndombol, on November 1 to deliver reftel demarche on Argentina's request to have the November 5 Interpol General Assembly uphold the executive committee's decision to issue red flag notices against Iranian officials charged in the 1994 AMIA bombing. Ndombol commented that our timing was fortuitous as she was in the middle of drafting (in long-hand, on loose-leaf paper) her proposed position for each of the meeting agenda items. Ndombol indicated that the Government of Cameroon's official delegation (led by Alain Edgar Mebe Ngoo, head of the General Delegation for National Security, Cameroon's civilian police) would likely take the same position as the USG.
