We delivered reftel points and a copy of the Department's
press release to Darius Staniulis, Head of the MFA's Human
Rights and NGOs Division, on September 4. He agreed that the
situation was unfortunate and said he would discuss the issue
with his colleagues in the MFA and with contacts in the EU.
He anticipated that the GOL would not make any statement on
its own, but would support any EU statement.
