USUN has emailed to Department EUR-IO/EX/FM-Alice Green a copy of a note dated August 9, 2007 from the UN Secretary-General requesting payment of the U.S. assessed SIPDIS contribution to the United Nations Mission in Ethiopia and Eritrea (UNMEE) for the period from July 1, 2007 to January 31, 2008 in the amount of $15,705,286. The note state that funds are urgently required for the financing of this operation and are due within thirty days of receipt of the note. The bank account to which payment may be made is also contained in the note. ¶2. Action requested: Department is requested to facilitate payment as noted above in paragraph 1. KHALILZAD
