1. (C) Mission has learned from Pakistani Ambassador Akram
(currently in Islamabad) that there is a strong possibility
that the OIC meeting convening May 15 in Islamabad could
endorse Bosnia,s candidacy for the Human Rights Council.
Akram indicated that he would be willing to move for the
endorsement if the Bosnian representative brought the issue
to the floor.
2. (C) Mission has confirmed with the Bosnian ambassador here
that Bosnia will indeed be represented at the Islamabad
meeting at the Ministerial level and does intend to raise the
HRC election. He thanked us for the information from Akram,
which he promised to convey to his minister.
3. (C) Department and/or Embassy Islamabad may wish to
confirm the above strategy with the Pakistani and Bosnian
authorities on site for the Islamabad meeting.
