SUBJECT: UNGA ADOPTS RESOLUTION APPROVING CREDENTIALS

1. On December 21, the UN General Assembly adopted without a
vote a resolution entitled "Credentials of representatives to
the sixty-second session of the General Assembly" (reftel).
Afterward, Iran made an statement expressing its reservations
about the Credential Committee's report to the General
Assembly (A/62/596),which lists Israel as one of the 130
Member States that had submitted credentials to the
sixty-second regular session of the General Assembly. Iran
said its decision to join consensus on the resolution should
not be construed as recognition of the "Israeli regime."

Credentials of representatives to the sixty-second session of
the General Assembly

The General Assembly,

Having considered the report of the Credentials Committee and
the recommendation contained therein,

Approves the report of the Credentials Committee.
