On December 10, the United Nations General Assembly
considered the resolution A/RES/62/86, submitted under Agenda
item 54(d),"Sustainable development: protection of global
climate for present and future generations of mankind: report
of the Second Committee (A/62/419/Add.4)." As in the Second
Committee (described in reftel),there was a vote on
operative paragraph 11, a budgetary paragraph calling for the
UN budget to contribute to the UN Framework Convention on
Climate Change. The UNGA vote on this paragraph was
162-2(U.S. and Japan)-0. Then the UNGA adopted by consensus
the resolution in its entirety.
